Camp NaNoWrimo Victory

As of tonight, I am officially a winner of Camp NaNoWriMo! Unlike in Script Frenzy and NaNoWrimo, my story has only just begun and is far from being completed. To celebrate my victory, I will be sharing two sonnet/poems that I had mentioned a month or two ago. They are the base of the entire sonnet/poem collection that one day I may just combine to form one long epic poem. Moreover, I will be including six more sentences from "Kuna Zero: A Wanderer's Tale". Enjoy!
"Kuna Zero: A Wanderer's Tale" Excerpt:

“Should the spirit world and the mortal world combine into one, neither will exist. Mortals will become immortal, except for deadly wounds, and immortals will be able to die by deadly wounds. Food will no longer be required, and neither will sleep or water. People would become infertile, yet would still grow old and frail.” Her voice began to shake as she finished the paragraph. She handed me the book.

Now for the sonnets/poems.

The Great Raven

The Great Raven flies across the sky,
In His endless black cloak,
Consuming the world in His darkness,
From horizon to horizon covered.

The Great Raven's single black beak, as sharp as can be,
Strikes down men, first in the heart, and then the body
As gentle as can be, and yet violent
Like the wars of men that called Him.

The Great Raven's massive talons carry these men,
Like a mother who carries her baby,
But He comes many years past one's start,
Yet takes the young along with the old.

The Great Raven flies to the Great Mountain,
Carrying all of us along with Him.

The Great White Dove

The Great White Dove flies across the sky,
In Her eternal white robe,
Blessing the world with Her white light,
From the paradise we will one day join.

The Great White Dove's beautiful shining beak
Kisses the stomachs of expecting women,
As gentle as can be, yet feared by some,
Like the love of men that beckoned Her.

The Great White Dove's wonderful talons carry men
Into the mother's arms as her baby,
But She comes whenever She pleases,
Yet comes if we beckon her so.

The Great White Dove flies from the Great Mountain,
Carrying all of us back here with Her.

Six Sentences of Kuna Zero: A Wanderer's Tale

“Three, Two, One, Zero.” I began reading it aloud. “You are the last of the four and you are the only one who is worthless. It would be rude of me not to offer to change that. Of course, such help would come with a price, but I am sure that you will find the conditions quite to your liking. First, you must join me."

Above is a quote from my novel in progress, "Kuna Zero: A Wanderer's Tale". I figured that I ought to post more, so I thought I would take a page from Shira Windschitl's book. Well, actually, it would be more accurate to say that I took a post from her blog. There is a link to it below. She is a writer like me; however, it appears that she writes much faster than I do. I currently have thirty-three thousand words. She reached that a while ago. She is a mother as well, so she must write while taking care of her children. I found her solution quite interesting actually. She merely spends fifteen minutes every hour writing. She sits there and writes like a madwoman. From what I've read, she can get six hundred words down in those fifteen minutes. Considering that she most likely does this more than three times a day, it is no wonder why she writes so quickly. Anyways, back to the quote.

As I mentioned, the quote comes from my novel in progress, "Kuna Zero: A Wanderer's Tale". For those of you who may wonder why my name is in the title, the answer is simple. Kuna Zero is not my real name. It is actually my pen name. However, Kuna Zero is also the main character's name in "The Beginning of the End" and in "Kuna Zero: A Wanderer's Tale". The two novels form a pair, a sort of series. They tell the story of Kuna Zero at different parts of his life. The first, "The Beginning of the End" takes place around the year two thousand thirty-two in a post-apocalyptic world. In this novel, Kuna Zero is about thirty seven. The second, "Kuna Zero: A Wanderer's Tale", however, tells of the events that lead up to "The Beginning of the End". It is set in three years: two thousand ten, two thousand eleven, and two thousand twelve. Kuna starts off at fifteen in the novel and by the end of it, he is seventeen. "Kuna Zero: A Wanderer's Tale" is actually Kuna Zero retelling his story after "The Beginning of the End", while "The Beginning of the End" is told as it is happening. Anyways, I truly do believe that I have gone on for quite long enough, so I will leave it at that. Thank you for your truly constant reading. Until next time,

It seems I forgot Shira Wildschitl's blog link. I apologize. The link follows.

Employment (poem)

Employment, oh how I resent you.
Merely four days have passed since I became 'employed',
Yet I have already gained this resentment for you.

Perhaps it is because of my motives,
Or perhaps due to my injured values;
It very well could be because of both.

I sell knives to clients, people I know personally,
Yet the razor-sharp knives could never sever the noose,
The noose that society put around my neck when this began.

'Make appointments' he says,
As if it is something that is easy to do,
When one understands that the appointments resolve around money.

These 'appointments' are business meetings,
Despite his constant talking of them as social meetings,
And I resent these 'appointments' because of it.

After all, I am calling old friends for once,
Yet I only search to make a quick buck.
Have I truly sold my soul to society?

My conscious is howling in pain,
Like the lone wolf howls at the moon,
Looking for someone else to come along and save it.

But I know only I can save it,
For I am more than just the moon,
As I am another lone wolf.

What may these two wolves do together?
This is a question I ask myself everyday,
But the answer is the question.

The two lone wolves will act together,
As opposed to as separate entities,
Allowing for the both of them to prosper.

And I have seen these two wolves together,
As they travel far and wide as a pair,
Writing heart-felt stories that perhaps only they love.

But whether the two are alone or not,
So long as they are together,
They need not the world around them.

For once a man listens to his conscious,
He will see the world in a different way,
As every happy man will.

My Own Procrastination

I have been keeping myself quite busy so far this summer break; however, it seems that my writing is still procrastinated. But this procrastination is not all that bad, if you ask me. I do not tend to write anything at all on the weekends, so I nearly fell behind the daily word count for CampNaNoWriMo on the third. Of course, I wouldn't let that happen, so two hours before midnight I sat down and typed away. I was writing till about four in the morning, I believe. I met the daily word count for the third just in time and am now at eleven thousand words because I procrastinated my writing so much. Actually, I intended on writing more today, but I do not quite feel like writing away. I am already a decent pace ahead of the daily count and I do not want to fly through my novel too quickly. A month is a lot of time for me to explore the novel, instead of spending five to ten days running through the novel at top speed. Therefore, I am taking a break from working on my novel for the night. Tomorrow, after I wake up, I will meet the daily count of about one thousand and two thirds. I may surpass it, if my novel wishes. If it does not, then I will not write much further.

Anyways, I intended on filling you, my readers, in on what has been going on in my world in terms of writing. I have partially done that already; however, there is something else I wish to address. It is in respects to the epic or sonnet collection that  I was writing. At this current point in time, I have eighteen sonnet form poems written, without rhyme structure. I do not feel as if rhyming is appropriate for this project of mine. I now have three deities described and some locations described briefly as well. Moreover, I have introduced the birth of said deities, which is tied in with a group of beings that I call the Imperfects. In terms of writing, that is all that has really changed since my last post. Actually, I do recall passing sixty thousand words for "The Beginning of the End." That is all, thank you. I may post a creative piece soon; however, I would recommend not expecting it anyways. It is better to be safe than sorry, as they say.

And with this, I take my leave.
