In Search of Home (poem)

She stands with her back against the Infinite,
Her arms stretched out,
Its waves crashing on the rocks behind her,
A moment of carelessness:
Happy.

She'll be gone before the rocks,
Out to sea,
To find something,
A place to call home:
Belonging.

She'll taste sea, sky, and land,
Cross many borders,
Only to find the search over,
The question redefined:
“Where isn't home?”

Every grain of sand welcomes her,
And every drop of water,
For her home is the Infinite,
So she belongs everywhere:
The truest citizen of being.
