Rage of the waves

Day 1
The roar of the waves is what woke me. My eyes slowly opened revealing the black sky above me. It took a moment or two for me to realize that I had no idea where I was. Panic gripped me bringing a wave of despair with it. I was alone. I couldn't remember what had happened either. One moment I was on a hijacked cargo ship, next moment everything went black.

I watched the clouds twist and turn violently. I reached out with my left hand and grabbed a piece of the land that I'm stuck on. It was stained a dark red, like dried blood. I dared not to look away from the sky. I couldn't stand to look at dead bodies.

I tried to get up but as I put pressure on my right leg, an incredible pain shot through it sending me straight back to the ground on my side. My eyes were closed shut, I knew there had to be a dead body right infront of my eyes. I started thinking why this happened to me of all people. Being stuck on an island in god knows where wasn't exactly my idea of work. The rest of the crew is probably dead. I don't even know how I survived.

Time seemed to pass slower and slower by the second until, I felt the dark night consume my being. Thinking I wouldn't be able to see anything anyways, I opened my eyes and saw nothing. Not the sky, ground, or my hand infront of my face. There were no stars and the moon seemed to  have disappeared from the sky.

I dragged myself away from where I was, away from the roar of the great seas. I eventually found what felt like grass and that's where I stopped. I needed to sleep, the perpectual dark wasn't going to help my situation. I closed my eyes I think, I couldn't tell the difference. The last thought that went through my mind before I fell asleep was how there wasn't a single scent in the air this entire time.

Day 2
The morning sun attack my eyelids with ferocity waking me up. I opened my eyes and brought my arm over to block the sunlight. My mouth felt dry like the sand nearby.

 I needed water.

I looked down at my legs and saw that my panted were torn up on the right side revealing what had happened to my leg to me. It was bloody with a large cut going deep through it. I knew that it would be a problem. Every place has predators that would kill me given the chance of an easy meal.

I sat up and observed my surroundings. Far away in the direction my legs pointed was the beach and the calm ocean. The beach had nothing on it, it was entirely golden. This stuck me as odd but I had other things to worry about like surviving. To my right I saw a rather large branch broken off of a large tropical tree nearby, I knew I'd have to use it to walk.

I was on the border between a tropical rainforest and a golden brown beach, the border between safety and uncertainty. I knew the beach couldn't keep me alive but what could possibly come to attack me there? If I went into the rainforest I would be taking the chance of being ripped to shreds by a savage beast, but I might find food and water.

I didn't take long to make the decision, I'd much rather be insane than stupid. I slowly edged over to the branch and grasped it with my right hand. Then slowly pushing myself up and supporting myself with the branch, my only companion now, I climbed to my feet. I stood there confident and powerful as I took my first step, my second following with the aid of my good friend. And like that I slowly found my way trekking through an expanse of forest, the likes of which I have never seen before. I still wandered without a scent in my nostrils. I seemed to be the only thing that moved at all. I was the only thing making a sound. I don't know where the birds went or even the insects but I knew that they were definitely not here.

I limped along for hours and hours looking for anything that looked good to eat or some flowing water but I found nothing. I thought I was going to die. Finally I heard something and it fed my starving ears. It was flowing water, like back at the park at home when I was a kid.

I never loved that sound more then I did that moment. It was the very essence of life calling out to me not to lose hope. I hurried to where the sound was coming from and when I finally got to it I was exausted. I fell to my knees thanking every god there is for this wonderful gift and bent over the stream filling my hands with the transparent water.

Bringing it to my lips felt like an eternity but once they connected I could feel my strength returning to me, I was going to be O.K. I drank and I drank until I couldn't fit anymore water in my body without exploding. I fell on my back content with just staying right here forever, I never wanted to leave that stream. The sun had started to set when I got to the stream and now it was almost pitch black out again so I closed my eyes and went back to sleep.

Day 3
This time what woke me was the roar of my own stomach telling me to eat soon. I knew I had to find something but I didn't want to leave this sanctuary I found.

 My fountain of life.

It didn't take long for my stomach to convince me to get up and find food. I slowly climbed to my feet with my best friend in hand. I reentered the forest with newfound strength and confidence.

Today the forest was alive, the birds were flying and causing all sorts of noise but it was music to my ears. There was a small gust of wind that blew through the woods, sending the smell of some fresh fruit into my lungs. I quickly took off in that direction, my leg slowly healing.

I soon came across some fruit I've never seen before but I didn't think twice about eating it. They were mainly orange and had blue spots on them and had an odd shape, like something out of a fanasty world.  I devoured many of the fruits, just enough to fill me for the days to come.

I was relaxing against the tree when I decided to make my way back to the stream. I limped my way back the way I thought I came. I was sadly mistaken however and was wandering for hours with no luck of finding anything. The sun started to set and I knew I could not go much longer without stopping when I heard a branch snap behind me.

Alarmed I spun around to see a black feline pouce at me and in fear I brought my friend up infront of me trying to save myself. The ark cat collided with my savior but my arm couldn't take the force and it knocked my friend into me causing me to drop it. Now terrified and alone I faced the demonic panther.

It was not phased by my reaction, and it slowly crept towards me watching me closely. I went to run but my leg gave out under me causing me to once again collide with the cold hard ground.

The reflective eyes were all I could see at this point. But I could feel the cat above me.

I knew it was over.

I readied myself to die as the cat sunk it's teeth into the back of my neck causing me to slowly suffocate. I rolled over in pain and saw just one thing as I bled a crimson river, the cruel satisfication in its eyes, its victory.
